We had some people over for dinner the other night. One of our guests was a little girl named Mya who is 4 1/2. I noticed a bright green caterpillar on our deck railing and called Tanner and Mya over to see it. Mya got there first and exclaimed. “Aww, it is going to be a beautiful butterfly!” Tanner came to see it shortly after and shouted “COOL!!” he then took his finger and …. Squash!

Surprisingly the caterpillar survived and Mya made it her goal to protect the future “beautiful butterfly” from the bug squasher that is my son…boys vs. girls.
