Our little princess is a food stasher. I usually find bits of cereal, crackers, and granola bars in the various compartments of her car seat. Nothing an occasional vacuuming couldn't handle.
However, a few weeks ago I noticed the car started smelling like apples. I searched the entire car and couldn't find apples anywhere. Then one day I reached into the side compartment of her carseat and came out with a nice handful of fermented apple mush. She had taken the apple slices I had given her earlier in the week, eaten the white part, and stashed the peels down the side of her seat.
This evening while we were driving, I heard her shouting "Ewww. Gross!!!" I turned around to find her holding this. A hard, greasy chunk of 3 day old cheese. Mmmm yummy!
I guess I have my answer to how she stays so tiny. Here I thought she was actually eating her food. Time to go check under the ledge of the kitchen table.

Yesterday was Brandon's Grandpa's 83rd birthday. We used to call him G-G-Pa, but once Tanner could talk he started calling him Grandpa Grandpa and the name has stuck. He is an amazing guy and has played a huge role in Brandon's life. Many of Brandon's fondest childhood memories involve his Grandpa. I am thrilled that my children are now able to know him and develop fun memories with him as well. Some of the things we love about him are his playful personality, his love for kids, his thirst for knowledge and teaching, his selfless attitude and his generous spirit. Both of my Grandpas passed away when I was a child and since marrying Brandon I have enjoyed having a "grandpa" again. Enjoy the iPhone pictures, courtesy of Aunt Jilynn (Brandon's sister)

This boy loves to climb this tree. So much so that he often doesn't bother to remove his bike helmet once we get to the park. He just runs to "his tree" and starts to climb. I just figure that the helmet keeps his head extra safe in the event of a fall, but I am sure some of the other parents think I am the ultimate in over protection when they see him up in the tree with a helmet on!

Valentine’s Day will soon be here! Everywhere we go we see hearts and glitter and red and pink (including this site!) Seeing all of the decorations brings thoughts of love to the forefront of my mind. While our culture typically focuses on the romantic part of Valentine’s Day, I just love it for a different reason. Every year I enjoy this holiday as a time to think about the power of love and what it really means. For me, it serves as a wonderful and simple reminder of what Jesus famously summed up as the most important commands in all of scripture: love God & love others. I love the easy opportunities it provides to teach the kids about love. God’s love for them, our love for them, our love for each other, how important love is and what it means to love God and love others.
I enjoy taking the focus off of having a “valentine” and knowing each person on this earth was created by the ultimate One who is LOVE and Jesus came to earth as the ultimate expression of that love for us. Amazing Love!

Teacher: Okay Tanner. Since you are our calendar helper and today is the 27th, you get to decide what our class is going to do twenty-seven times. Are we going to clap our hands, stomp our feet, tap our shoulders, or what are we going to do?
Tanner: Okay. We are gonna do something that is super silliness. We are gonna do a funky dance!
Teacher: Can you show us the funky dance? Stand up everyone and lets do a funky dance 27 times.
Entire class of four year olds stand up and proceed to do 27 funky dance moves. I was able to witness the hilariousness since I was the room helper today.
